Beauty is only skin-deep, but the pettiness is on full display in this episode of Live, Laugh, Larceny, featuring the bizarre blackmail scandal surrounding the 2007 Miss New Jersey pageant. But first, Trevin takes a staycation to recharge and discovers his car battery has decided it can no longer hold a charge. With car trouble in the air, Amanda faces a chiropractic dilemma of her own. She needs to see a chiropractor and has consequently fallen down the YouTube rabbit hole of chiropractic videos, including the deeply strange world of horse chiropractors. For Crime Bites, Trevin brings us a bizarre two-part saga from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Christopher Michael Peden cuts off his own penis, douses it in gasoline, and sets it on fire in his mother's garage. Somehow, that isn't the end of the story. A few months later, his brother James Peden sets Christopher's car on fire. These brothers have a fascinating definition of family bonding. Then Amanda takes us back to the 2007 Miss New Jersey pageant and its winner, Amy Polumbo. What starts as the glamorous dream of becoming a beauty queen turns into a blackmail scandal involving supposedly "racy" photographs, the loss of her crown, and a mysterious group calling itself the Committee to Save Miss America. But who were they, and what exactly did they want from Miss New Jersey? For Two Truths and a Lie, Amanda introduces three of the strangest pageants imaginable: the Miss Mosquito Legs Pageant, the Armpit Queen Pageant, and Miss Yellow Teeth. They all sound completely made up. Unfortunately, reality has once again out-weirded us. And Trevin closes things out with his own Two Truths and a Lie about nudity, covering YMCA dress codes for boys, Ivy League posture photos, and Queen's iconic "Bicycle Race."
