Today's episode completes our 'Gastrointestinal' Series. The topic today might be often overlooked but clinically is very relevant. I start by reviewing the physiology of swallowing (01:28) which lends itself nicely to factors preventing reflux of gastric contents (07:35). Then we examine the control of gastric motility and emptying (15:56) and the composition of gastric fluid as well (23:44). Our last LO looks at the physiology of nausea and vomiting (31:23).
