Hard Beautiful Journey | Finding Joy Again Through Life's Hardest Lessons

Hard Beautiful Journey | Finding Joy Again Through Life's Hardest Lessons

What if life's hardest seasons weren't just something to survive but the curriculum you came here for? Hard Beautiful Journey with Tiffany Carson is about earth school: the messy, unfair, occasionally hilarious classroom of being human. Through honest stories and real conversations about grief, heartbreak, loss, and starting over, we look for the lesson, the meaning, and yes the laugh, because life is hard and we might as well laugh. Expect ugly crying and snort laughing, sometimes in the same episode. A space for remembering who you are, making peace with your soul's lessons, and finding your way back to joy.

Life is hard and sometimes so ridiculously beautiful it hurts. Hard Beautiful Journey with Tiff Carson is a podcast about the lessons hidden inside our hardest seasons: grief, loss, addiction, heartbreak, divorce, trauma, and starting over. Through honest, vulnerable conversations and the occasional ugly cry and snort laugh, sometimes in the same episode Tiff and her guests explore what they've actually learned on their hard beautiful journeys. Every episode goes looking for the lesson, the meaning, and yes, the laugh, because life is hard and we might as well laugh. This is a safe space for real talk about mental health, healing, resilience, spirituality, and finding your way back to joy. Whether you're grieving, rebuilding, or just need to hear you're not doing this thing called life alone pull up a chair. You belong here. iamtiffanycarson.substack.com

Learning to Listen to Yourself: Grief, Recovery & Trusting Your Heart
Sunday, 1 November, 2026

Have you ever had that feeling deep down that something wasn’t right, but you couldn’t quite explain why?Maybe your body was trying to tell you something. Maybe your intuition was nudging you toward a change. Or maybe you already knew what you needed to do, but taking that first step felt terrifying. My guest on Hard Beautiful Journey, Caron Grossman, knows what it’s like to face all three.Caron lost her mother suddenly to a heart attack when she was just 13 years old. Decades later, at 58, she experienced a heart attack of her own. And even as a registered nurse, the symptoms weren’t what she expected. But this conversation is about so much more than surviving a heart attack. We talk about the grief Caron carried for years, her struggles with food and alcohol addiction, the shame she had to unlearn, and how recovery, breathwork, and self-discovery helped her reconnect with who she truly is.One of the things that stayed with me was how Caron described learning to listen to herself. It wasn’t something that happened overnight. Every difficult experience, every healing practice, and every lesson had helped her develop the awareness to recognize when something wasn’t right.Sometimes the work we’re doing today is preparing us for something we can’t even imagine tomorrow. In this episode, we explore:* How childhood grief can shape the stories we tell ourselves* Women’s heart attack symptoms and the importance of medical self-advocacy* Food and alcohol addiction, recovery, and releasing shame* How breathwork became part of Caron’s ongoing healing journey* Learning to trust your intuition and recognize your inner knowing* Unlearning the belief that you’re either too much or not enough* Why courage doesn’t mean being fearless* How taking one small step can lead you somewhere unexpectedWhat I especially loved about Caron’s story is that she didn’t arrive at this place in her life because of one extraordinary moment. It was years of recovery, difficult conversations, uncomfortable truths, and choosing to show up for herself, even when it wasn’t easy. And I keep coming back to something she shared about learning she wasn’t too much, or not enough. How many of us spend years believing things about ourselves that were never true in the first place?I hope this conversation leaves you with a little more curiosity about your own story. Not just the difficult chapters, but everything you’ve discovered about yourself because of them. Because there’s something pretty wonderful about reaching a point in life where you can look at who you are, everything you’ve been through, and genuinely like the person looking back at you. ❤️I’d love to hear from you: Have you ever ignored your intuition, only to realize later that you knew what you needed all along?
