Jesus, fully God and fully human, encounters a marginalized Samaritan woman at Jacob's well, using her physical thirst as a metaphor for the soul's deep, unquenchable longing for true life. He reveals that all earthly pursuits—relationships, pleasures, and even religious traditions—are like dry wells that temporarily satisfy but ultimately leave the heart parched, because they cannot deliver the eternal life found only in Him.
