In 2015, I started writing Midas- a series of novels about college guys trying to escape a VR simulation. When I started out, I was a fundamentalist Bible college student planning to become a Christian missionary. Four years and four Midas novels later, I was out of college, out as queer, and writing psychedelic zines in the Chicago underground art scene. So, what happened there? Each episode, I'll read a chapter of one of these books I wrote in my early 20s, try not to cringe so hard I die, and tell you about how I wrote them, and they wrote me.
