Baseball is so much more than a game to me. It ended up being the catalyst that helped me build a strong and meaningful relationship with my son.That's because in the countless hours spent going to open fields to play catch, or driving back and forth to team practices and especially when traveling to baseball games and tournaments all across America, we were given the rare gift of time to talk and truly connect with each other. And in today's 24/7, social media heavy, hectic and frenetic 'always on' world, that's a rare gift for a father-son to have. Now that he's in college, we don't get a chance to hang out with each other as often anymore, but we still welcome the opportunity to continue 'playing catch' to talk about the ups and downs of growing up, parenting and the lessons we continue to learn along life's journey.
