Join Oliver as he chills with revered Canadian comedian Ron James! Selling out theatres across the country for decades now, Ron has cemented himself as one of the Great White North's most recognizable and respected comics. He has performed numerous times at Canada's most reputable comedy festivals, and starred in his own television series 'The Ron James Show' (which had an impressive five year run). He's a former writer for 'This Hour Has 22 Minutes' and more recently has also became a published author! Things kick off with talk about the strange times we're living in, followed by Ron reflecting on some of his experiences travelling and conversing with folks throughout Canada. He then delves into his early years as an entertainer, working with Second City and ultimately moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. Ron explains how his time spent in LA would end up becoming the muse for his first one-man show 'Up & Down in Shaky Town', leading to him becoming a true standup comedian in his late thirties. Oliver inquires about Ron's impeccable memorization skills and the process of writing his wonderfully engrossing book 'All Over The Map: Rambles and Ruminations from the Canadian Road'.
