Episode 159
Thursday, 30 October, 2025

Today's podcast is all about Frank Isaac. Frank is a seasoned film executive and producer whose career spans more than four decades, helping filmmakers bring bold visions to life—on time and on budget. He currently serves as SVP of Production at Film Finances, the preeminent completion bond company in the entertainment industry. In this role, Frank plays a pivotal part in shepherding film and television projects from pre-production through delivery. He meticulously reviews and approves shooting schedules, budgets, production plans, and key hires—ensuring each production is positioned for success. The position places him in close collaboration with a wide range of producers, directors, executives, and crews worldwide—something Frank considers one of the great privileges of his career. Since joining Film Finances in 2013, Frank has supervised an extraordinary slate of projects, including Blade Runner 2049, Sicario, The Guilty, The Glorias, Soldado, Nightcrawler, and Pawn Sacrifice, along with groundbreaking documentaries such as Our Planet, Making a Murderer, and Chef's Table. Prior to that, Frank served as SVP of Production at International Film Guarantors (2000–2013), where he guided productions including The Aviator, Tomb Raider, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and Marvel blockbusters such as Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and The Incredible Hulk. Earlier in his career, he was VP of Production at Largo Entertainment (1996–1999), where he oversaw films such as Ridley Scott's G.I. Jane and Paul Schrader's Affliction—the latter earning James Coburn an Academy Award and Nick Nolte an Oscar nomination. He also co-produced Dr. Jekyll & Ms. Hyde (1994) under legendary producer Ray Stark and served as Co-Executive Producer on Disney's Encino Woman for ABC. Frank's career began in the independent world, first with Roger Corman in the 1980s, producing a series of American–Argentine sword-and-sorcery adventures, and later with Shapiro Glickenhaus Entertainment, where he oversaw cult favorites such as Maniac Cop, Basket Case 2 and 3, and Frankenhooker. His first production credit came on The Beastmaster (1982), where he learned the craft from the ground up. A graduate of the University of Southern California with a BA in Cinema/Television, Frank has built a reputation as both an advocate for filmmakers' visions and a trusted steward of complex productions. His body of work reflects a rare ability to balance creative ambition with financialand logistical precision. To learn more about Frank: https://www.linkedin.com/in/frank-isaac-562557177
