Stand On It: Courage Has Consequences
Sunday, 16 August, 2026

Making the courageous decision is one thing. Standing on it when people don’t like your decision is something else entirely. This week on The Well Done Life, we’re continuing the conversation from “Courageous Decisions” and talking about what happens after you choose yourself, establish the boundary, make the change, or finally say no.Because courage has consequences.Sometimes people you love won’t understand your decision. Sometimes they’ll be disappointed. Sometimes your growth changes their access to you or disrupts expectations they had for your life. And sometimes people will try to use their feelings, disappointment, or history with you to convince you to reconsider. But here’s the thing: people are allowed to have feelings about your decisions. Their feelings don’t automatically get authority over them.In this episode, we’re talking about:The aftermath of courageous decisionsAllowing people to have their feelings without taking responsibility for fixing themRecognizing when feelings become leverageThe difference between being stubborn and being groundedListening to wise counsel without handing over the wheelWhy over-explaining can turn into seeking approvalThe guilt that can come with establishing boundariesAccepting that standing on your values may cost you somethingTrusting yourself enough to stand on the decisions you’ve madeStanding on business doesn’t mean being cold, dismissive, or unwilling to listen. It means knowing your values, examining your choices, accepting accountability when necessary, and understanding that someone else’s discomfort doesn’t automatically mean you’ve done something wrong. So this week, I want you to ask yourself:Is there something I genuinely need to reconsider—or am I questioning myself because someone else is uncomfortable with my decision? You made the courageous decision. Now comes the next part.Courage has consequences. Stand on it anyway.  Listen to The Well Done Life wherever you get your podcasts.#TheWellDoneLife #StandOnIt #CourageousDecisions #Boundaries #PersonalGrowth #IntentionalLiving #WomenOver40Thank you for listening.
