Tragedy, trauma, even unexpected blessings can cause a sudden shift in your well-thought-out plan. Most of us, at the very least, have an idea of what our today, tomorrow, and many tomorrows might look like. What happens when the unexpected forces us to take a detour? The American Bible Society says, “The Bible provides comfort and clarity when the things we love feel like they’re slipping through our fingers. Inevitably, God will call us to let go of the past and follow his lead into new seasons of life, and that’s not an easy task.” Don’t we know it! Right? In one way or another, most of us know what a sudden detour looks like. But how we handle it, avoid it, escape from it or embrace it, makes all the difference in the world.
