S1E3, Part 1: Kevin Impellizeri, Ph.D., talks video game history, Megacolons and Megadongs!
Episode 3
Thursday, 4 June, 2020

Charley and Brandy discuss video games, Megacolons, and (mega?)dongs named Jerry with newly anointed DOCTOR Kevin Impellizeri in the third installment of Scholars and Shots. Dr. Kevin is a video game historian, teacher, and museum professional based in Philadelphia, where he promises to take us on a tour into the depths of the Mutter Museum if we visit, either before or after an unhealthy number of shots. We learned so much from him we had to split the episode in two - twice the fun and lovable nonsense! About our Drunk Scholar: Kevin Impellizeri, PhD, is a video game historian, teacher, and museum professional based in the Philadelphia area. His dissertation  examined the evolution of meaning and user identity for home video games  in America, 1972-1994. He has also developed educational programming  for The National Constitution Center, Eastern State Penitentiary  Historic Site, Fort Mifflin on the Delaware, and The Mütter Museum of  The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, and he currently oversees  after-school and summer youth programming at The College of Physicians  of Philadelphia. You can follow him on Twitter (@KDImpellizeri) and at kevinimpellizeri.wordpress.com. Learn more about the Mütter Museum by visiting their website: muttermuseum.org. Follow us on twitter: Charley is @socialscinerd Brandy is @BrandyDykhuizen And the podcast is, of course, @ScholarsShots!
