The Roundup PodcastAuthor: Roundup Podcast
The Roundup features Vincent, Gabe and Brian, longtime friends and avid fans of the Big Three in American sports: the NFL, NBA and MLB. We watch sports continuously, listen to podcasts, absorb all the written media we can (sometimes while enjoying a frosty adult beverage) and talk sports every day, and this is where we come to break it all down. Over the course of 500 or so episodes, the show continues to evolve; full disclosure, these days we've been pretty NBA heavy, and being Warriors' fans, there's a lot of Dub discussion here, but we always cover the NFL wire to wire, throw in some baseball talk from time to time, and hit on the biggest stories from around the sports world as well. So sit back, get the Roundup Podcast queued up, and let's get rolling Language: en Genres: Basketball, Football, Sports Contact email: Get it Feed URL: Get it iTunes ID: Get it |

643: Back, w/ NFL Playoffs & NBA at the Midway - The Roundup Podcast, w/ the Guru, Gabe Goldield & Your Host, Vincent
Episode 643
Wednesday, 14 January, 2026
On today's show, after an unplanned but unavoidable hiatus, (which was caused in part by tech issues resulting from a real actual Act of God, and the audio is still not quite right for a few minutes near the beginning, sorry!) we are finally back, and just in time to catch up on the NFL Playoffs after a tremendous Wild Card Weekend. I'm super high on the Bills and Rams as favorites, the Guru likes the Hawks and Pats, but in our hearts, we're all Bears fans right now as we ride with Gaber through a dream season. Plus, what we liked from the Jags, the Niner's good luck, the Packer's bad luck, and no one wants to talk about the Eagles. Then, a quick look around the top of the NBA, midseason, with the Thunder still atop the League, but as good as OKC is, and as good as the 2023 Celtics were, are they historically great teams like their advanced efficiency ratings and differentials suggest, or could current league trends actually be inflating their ratings? Plus, our mid Warriors, just mid at the midseason. It's brief…So sit back, its NFL Playoff time crunch time and the NBA at the midway point and we're breaking down how it's all unfolding, next on the Roundup Podcast so let's get rolling . . . > If you're wondering what the intro/outro music on the show is, we lead off every episode with an amazing song by Calexico called Close Behind, and for the closing music, the same song we've used every single episode so far, a beautiful rendition of the standard I Wish You Love, performed by a group called Friends of Dean Martinez, and special thanks to Joe Burns for letting us use his music here. So as always, a shoutout to the music we love, Calexico, Friends of Dean Martinez, check it out…
