Isaiah 11-16
Episode 150
Friday, 9 January, 2026
Isaiah 11–16 unfolds a vision of hope rising out of judgment. A righteous ruler from the line of Jesse is promised, bringing peace, justice, and the restoration of creation itself. The redeemed are gathered, and songs of praise flow from a people delivered by the LORD. The focus then widens to the nations surrounding Judah. Oracles are pronounced against pride, cruelty, and false security, especially in Moab, whose downfall is met not with gloating but with lament. Throughout these chapters, God is shown as sovereign over all peoples, opposing arrogance while holding out the possibility of refuge for those who seek him.
