Big Strange

Author: Big Strange Collective

Discussions about what its like to be an artist or freelancer during the apocalypse. At least for now. Really though, we're a group of 9 friends that started a collective to help each other make and produce art projects that we've dreamt of but can't create alone. You'll hear us talk about freelance life, but also politics, society, film and TV, spirituality, community, and whatever else happens in this crazy world we live in. Join us and we'll give you a virtual hug!

Episode 4: Making a Short Film!!!
Episode 4
Saturday, 4 April, 2020

Hello hello! In this episode, Zach talks to Darryl about his experience directing a short film as Big Strange's first project. Back in 2018, shortly after we created the Big Strange collective, we spent 5 intensive days making All of This!!!, a 14-minute film about artists encountering a natural disaster. We talk about the semi-chaotic filming process and how Darryl managed to keep everyone on the same page, how the story is a metaphorical foretelling of society's current situation with coronavirus, what were some of our favorite moments during the filming process, and more. Thanks again for listening! If you enjoy what you heard then please subscribe to stay up to date with our upcoming episodes. We will provide more information about where you can watch All of This!!! in a couple of weeks when it becomes available for streaming. And if you're interested in watching the film that Darryl recommended at the end, you can see the trailer here.
