In this episode, we discuss with our guest Ali Ahsan, a PhD student at the Department of English, Ashoka University, Sonipat. He has completed his MPhil in Comparative Literature at Ambedkar University, Delhi. For his MPhil, he wrote a dissertation titled “MINOR LITERATURES: TWO NOVELS ON THE BEARYS”. This dissertation is a study of Bearys, as represented in two novels – one in Beary and the other in Kannada. ‘Tharavad’ by UA Kasim Ullal, the Beary novel(Kannada script). ‘Kadankallu Mane’ by Muhammad Kulai, the Kannada novel. Apart from his dissertation, we talk about his childhood, Beary Language & his academic experiences.
