Agape, Love in ActionAuthor: Theresa Mitchell
Agape is a Greek word that means self-sacrificial love, it transcends all other love with its unconditional nature placing the needs of others before ourselves. I (Theresa Mitchell, the founder of Agape Outreach Inc. working with the homeless and needy) have dedicated my life to unconditionally making a difference in the world and hopefully inspiring a few others along the way. This podcast, Agape, Love in Action delves into the lives of people that are making a difference and unpacks what keeps them inspired to help others even when it hurts. If you give too much or have questions on how to shift from a job to a life of making a difference then this podcast is for you. If you are keen to start a charity or help people professionally in any field, then this podcast is for you. Every week we will have another amazing story of someone making a difference in the world. I strongly believe that if we see the pain in the world, then we need to become the love that is missing. Agape Love in Action has 4 seasons a year with 10 episodes per season. Sandy Gilbert has been an advocate for seniors' housing rights within the Chindera caravan parks for the past 14 years. Her in-depth knowledge of the aging residents allowed her to be able to direct people on where to find individuals during the 2022 Northern Rivers floods ultimately saving lives.Sandy started a sausage sizzle in one of the caravan parks the day after the floods, this turned into the Chindera community hub that 17 months later is still running and supporting people that are STILL homeless and fighting to rebuild their homes.Sandy lives in Southport yet every day travels into Northern NSW at her own expense to help people.Listen in to the heartbreaking stories of seniors who were stuck in the flood waters and the HELP that is still needed. The Chindera community hub is looking for a new venue to work out of from August, please reach out to them if you can help. https://www.facebook.com/groups/504860801025674/
