July 4, 2026 is the USA's 250th birthday. But with the division, polarization, hyper-partisanship, leftism, and now Islamism afoot in America, more than a few pundits are wondering aloud if America is on its last legs. Patriotism is down significantly from the 1976 Bicentennial or even the new Millennium in 2000. People are dejected, disillusioned, despairing, and increasingly nihilistic (life is absurd). Few empires or nations, except the most ancient Egyptians and Chinese, lasted longer on average than 250 years. The reasons they declined and suffered demise were more often internal debauchery and dissolution than external military raids. Sounds a lot like the USA. But there is hope, our founding ideals and the providence of God.
