Dr. Desiree Morgan is a Professor and Vice Chair of Faculty Affairs at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine, Department of Radiology. She previously served as Vice Chair of Education, Program Director of the UAB Diagnostic Radiology Residency, and Vice Chair of Clinical Research. Dr. Morgan is a member of the ABR Board of Governors and served as President of SABI in 2024–2025, among many other leadership roles within national radiology organizations.In this episode, Dr. Morgan shares her journey into abdominal radiology, reflecting on her experiences as both a clinician and researcher across her many leadership roles. She discusses her service with national radiology organizations and her deep passion for mentorship at all levels of training. We explore what it looks like to balance clinical duties while wearing many hats, and the catalyst behind the redesign of the American Board of Radiology Certifying Examination, including the return to oral board exams in 2028.
