Major Pulido's story of courage has been featured in Time Magazine, Fox News, CNN and countless television stations and newspapers. On August 17th, 2004, Major Pulido hit an improvised explosive device (IED) or roadside bomb while serving a combat tour in Iraq. He was training the new Iraqi Army. Major Pulido suffered extensive injuries to his left knee, and doctors amputated his left leg on October 1st, 2004. Since, his amputation, Major Pulido has been a staunch advocate for veterans and individuals with disabilities.
