Weve all heard someone say It takes a village to raise a child But with so many of us juggling huge responsibilities at home, and for the most part on our own, I cant help but wonder... Wheres the f***ing village at? This podcast is dedicated to bridging the gap between our lived experiences as parents, no matter what that looks like, bringing you a very necessary look into just what it takes to be a stay at home parent. Each episode is an interview with brave, honest, everyday individuals who have offered to share their parenting stories with me; the struggles, the wins, the doubts and fears and, central to all of that, what support systems they have in place. Where is their village? My hope is that it weaves a thread of commonality through our experiences, offering new perspectives to equip us with the confidence to make mistakes and put ourselves first, as much as humanly possible. Together well grow our own village of sorts, founded in oral tradition. Storytelling can take us back to a shared and supportive way of learning from one another, creating a space for the unsaid to be voiced, heard and healed. You can expect anything from... Doulas to Decolonisation Mindfulness to Maternal Health Pregnancy to Postpartum Sisterwounds to Survival Individualisation to Industrialisation Regrets to Rituals Triumphs to Taboos Grief to Growth Elders to Earth Care Single Parents to Step Parents Physiology to Psychology Counselling to Community Open Minds to Open Hearts ... and everything in between. It all feeds the mission: To educate, challenge, and inspire through storytelling. To honour oral tradition and the endangered art of Listening. To find our sense of deep belonging and connection. To revillage. This isn't just about how hard modern parenthood is - it's about how unsustainable it is. And we're about to change that.
