2024年3月13日，为避开中国人大、政协两会敏感期而被当局人员带往外地旅游的胡佳刚刚回到北京通州家中，接到美国之音记者拨通的电话，但他完全听不到记者的声音。根据来电显示的美国号码，他判定对方来自国际媒体，于是通过手机直抒胸臆，发表了他此次被旅游后的一篇独白式感言。
