#131 I Nearly Bought GLP-1s Online. Here's What Made Me Stop.
Episode 131
Monday, 27 July, 2026
A couple of glasses of wine. Some cheese. No exercise all weekend. Clothes feeling tight. Then a GLP-1 weight-loss ad appeared in my Facebook feed. It was Sunday night, I was feeling flat and thoroughly ick, and suddenly an easy solution was sitting right in front of me. Fill in a questionnaire. Qualify online. Have the medication delivered to your door. Very tempting. I completed the questionnaire using my correct details and didn't qualify. But when I changed the numbers slightly, I suddenly became eligible. Nothing about my health had changed. Only the numbers I entered into the form. That was my first reality check. The second came when I reached the payment page and realised I was about to commit close to $1,000 to something I hadn't properly thought through. In this episode, I'm sharing why I clicked, what stopped me from buying, and the questions every woman should ask before purchasing GLP-1 medication online. This is not an anti-GLP-1 conversation. These medications can be an incredibly helpful tool for the right person, with the right assessment and support. But they are one tool. Not the whole toolkit. In this episode, we cover: Why wanting a quick result doesn't make you lazy or foolish How weight-loss advertising catches us when we're feeling most vulnerable Why online eligibility doesn't automatically mean a medication is right for you The nutrition guidance many women aren't receiving while taking GLP-1s Why preserving muscle matters during perimenopause and menopause The digestive side effects some women experience What can happen when you aren't eating enough protein, fibre and essential nutrients Why hormonal changes add another layer to weight loss in your forties and fifties The question too many people forget to ask: What happens when I stop? Why I decided to do my own Weight Loss Wisdom reset instead. If I could be tempted by the promise of an easy fix, with all the knowledge and tools I already have, I know I'm not the only one. Before you make an expensive decision while feeling frustrated with your body, pause. Make sure you understand what you're taking, why you're taking it, what support you'll receive and what your longer-term plan looks like. Ready to join me? I'm doing another round of Weight Loss Wisdom, and this time I'm doing it alongside you. It's a focused three-to-six-week program for women who want a clear plan, genuine support and an end point. You'll receive the food plan, phased program, mindset tools and HCG support drops, with the option to add the Support Supplement Pack. I'm also including The Hormone Reset to help you transition into a balanced, sustainable routine afterwards.
