2 Chronicles 12:1-12 // Bill GormanIn this sermon, we walk through the account of Rehoboam’s abandonment of the faith and the subsequent arrival of the Egyptian army. We discuss the message from the prophet Shemaiah, which forced the leaders of Israel to recognize their own role in the crisis. We analyze the exchange of the golden shields for shields of bronze, illustrating how sin often results in a loss of glory and a cheapening of what was once precious.
