FM Angel Spotlight - Don and Anne Boyd
Episode 867
Thursday, 1 May, 2025
Longtime supporters of WQED, Don and Anne Boyd, share their story with Jim Cunningham, and about a special upcoming event. Don and Anne first met in Boston, when Don was working at Minuteman Records. A huge record store, Don fell in love with it's classical music selection. Working as a translator for Deutche Grammophon, Anne met Don at the record store while browsing their collection. They eventually moved to Pittsburgh, where Don earned his PhD and worked for PPG Industries, developing anti-corrosion coatings for cars. Anne continues to be involved in music and literature. The couple talks about their 4,000 vinyl album collection. They emphasize their belief in supporting public radio, and encourage people to listen. In addition, they will be hosting an event for WQED-FM supporters on May 31st. Don and Anne hope to bring together the musical community, and help fellow music lovers connect with each other. They look forward to hopefully doing more of these events in the future. Listen to WQED-FM from May 1st to 7th during our Spring Funder drive to learn more about the upcoming event!
