Episode 1090
Thursday, 12 March, 2026

The Bach Choir of Pittsburgh returns with their signature fundraising event, Bach Day Bash, celebrating J.S. Bach's 341st birthday! Amy Herlich, who is the Major Gifts Officer of the Cultural Trust and a member of BPC's Special Events Committee, stopped by the WQED studio to chat live with Anna Singer about the event. This year's bash is co-chaired and emceed by WQED's own Anna Singer and Jim Cunningham, and will celebrate the success of the Bach Choir's current season, "Cirque du Cinema," as well as the legacy of Artistic Director Thomas W. Douglas, who will embark on his farewell season in 2026-27. The event takes place on Saturday, March 21st at the recently renovated Greer Cabaret Theater, with a Choral Champions' Reception at 6:00pm, featuring a sneak peek at the 2026-27 season, hors d'oeuvres, and the opportunity to mingle with the Artistic Director. The "Main Act" begins at 7:30pm, with swing choral pieces performed by Bach Choir members, live music by The Good Times Big Band, a silent auction, and light snacks.
