At the edge of Notbear, the party stands at a crossroads, one path leading toward distant lightning and death, the other toward the reclusive wizard Algood, whose knowledge is needed to press forward. Choosing to aid over the mission, they venture north... only to discover a crater crackling with unnatural energy and a stagnant figure at its center. Entering the crater causes lightning to surge through their bodies and fear grips their minds as Ayeth revives the fallen warrior. With his first breath he cries out an oath of vengeance. Allies fall, magic spirals out of control, and whatever they’ve found is only the beginning. And if they’re not careful, the next time lightning strikes… it may not leave anyone standing.
