One unfortunate side effect of the 'sound bite' world we live in nowadays is the detrimental impact it has had on effective communication. Short, sterile and poorly constructed emails and texts have all but removed the ability to detect the communicator's authentic intent.Listening, that vital tool for getting to understand and relate to others, has diminished in integrity and relevance as communications become increasingly remote and self-serving in nature.Fortunately, there is one discipline where listening—and specifically, listening generously—remains a crucially important art form.
