Hi! I am Alessandra and I am so happy you are here. I am 16 years old and this is my podcast Sexual Assault Safe Haven. My Instagram account is @sexualsafehaven.pod. The goal of this podcast is to create a safe community where you feel empowered to report sexual violence and seek help to deal with trauma. Especially as adolescents, it may be difficult to know who to trust, who to tell, or even what really happened to you. I want you to know that you are valid, it is not your fault, and you have a support system, even if it is just this podcast. I will be sharing a little bit about my experience and also some resources to learn more about safe relationships and sexual violence. I will also be interviewing people and professionals. I want to start talking about sexual violence because although it is incredibly common, it is rarely talked about, deterring people from reporting it. I hope everyone is able to find peace and empowerment in the podcast and comes along the journey with me. Safety in College

This episode is a solo episode about staying safe in college in terms of sexual violence and more. This is a solo episode where I bring in some information that I've gathered from the resource page I created to talk a bit about preventing sexual violence in college and tips on dealing with uncomfortable situations. Unfortunately, sexual violence in college is not uncommon and is important to recognize, especially as we transition into college from high school.
