The LineAuthor: Alice Giuditta
The Line is a podcast series in which I explore a meaty/controversial topic, and attempt to dive deeper than the typical mainstream discourse, to have a conversation that presents different and perhaps more meaningful perspectives than the standard narrative, and fundamentally, to discuss the question: Where do you draw the line? (Spoiler: the answer is usually you cant, things arent that black and white). The intention behind The Line is to expose the nuances and complexities of every issue in a world which is increasingly keen to categorically judge things to be black and white. NAVIGATING RACIAL IDENTITY // The Line Ep. 1
Episode 1
Friday, 9 August, 2019
I am joined by my close friends Aimée - who is half Japanese and half English- and Zainab - who is Sudanese - to discuss the intricacies of racial identity. I myself come from 4 different countries, Aimée 2, Zainab one, and we have all experienced living in different cultural contexts. We explore how to figure out how to identify yourself, how to deal with the way others identify you, and the various experiences specific to being a person of colour or a person of mixed heritage. We hope you enjoy and continue the conversation in the wider world.
