The Classroom is a weekly sports talk show produced by the Marist College Center for Sports Communication that airs each Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to noon EST on ESPN 1220 of the New York Hudson Valley. Moving far beyond scores and highlights, center director/executive producer Dr. Keith Strudler and co-host Geoff Brault dig deeper into the intersection of sports and world around us, with guests ranging from leading sports journalists to professors and academics to Dr. Strudlers college roomates. And lest you fear its too serious, the show demands a strong comedic flair, including segments that range from student dating advice to radios first ever animal draft. All of this is done with the efforts of Marist Center for Sports Communication student interns, who do everything from research to technical production to going on air. Its a unique partnership between an academic center and an ESPN radio affiliate, and its your weekly smart look at sports. Sunday, 5 February, 2017
On this episode of The Classroom, Dr. Keith Strudler talks about the impact of the US travel ban on the world of sports. He also discusses the proposed changes to youth football along with intern Michaela Landry. Intern Michael Wallace leads the rest of the crew in a Mad Lib of Michael Vick's retirement letter. And after a robust discussion of the Super Bowl, Dr. Strudler brazenly and bizarrely contemplates whether he is in fact the Messiah.
