I forget exactly when this was, but it was most likely the very end of June or very beginning of July 2025. I just remembered it since it was warm, of course, and I just came in from shoveling snow outside my apartment in South Philly and I'm currently listening to the sleet hit my window.My friend had invited me down and we rented an airbnb in the downtown area, near a sort of public square, which included large churches, marketplaces, restaurants, and loads of people walking around. I remember this was about midday because my friend had to work or wasn't feeling well and as I was walking back the sky was getting darker as rain clouds blew in.I got back shortly after she arrived and let her know what I was doing. She asked to hear it, so I gave her my headphones and she immediately laid down and fell asleep. There's a ton of idle chatter, cars blasting music, bird songs, street musicians, barking dogs, and everything else that makes me love making these recordings. I've got one other one from Mexico, Torreon about a week later, and then after that I forget if I have anymore from 2025. But I should hopefully be able to acquire some more recordings from far flung corners of the world later this year.
