ADHD-ish

For Business Owners with Busy Brains

Author: Diann Wingert

ADHD-ish is THE podcast for business owners with big ideas and busy brains, whether you have an official ADHD diagnosis, or not. We have expanded our focus so regardless of your gender or whether you identify as an entrepreneur, soloist, small business owner, creative, independent professional, freelancer, etc) if you are driven and distracted, color outside the lines and think outside the box, this podcast is for you. People with these traits are far more likely to start a business because we love novelty and autonomy. But, running a business can be lonely and exhausting. Having so many brilliant ideas means dozens of projects youve started and offers youve brainstormed, but few youve actually launched. Choosing what to say "yes" to and what to catch and release is even harder. This is exactly why I created ADHD-ish. Each episode offers practical strategies, personal stories, and expert insights to help you harness your active mind and turn potential distractions into business success. From productivity tools to mindset shifts, youll learn how to do business your way by embracing your neurodivergent edge and turning passion and purpose into profit. If you're new here, Im your host, Diann Wingert, a psychotherapist-turned-business coach and ADHD-ish serial business owner, who struggled for years with cookie-cutter advice meant for normies and superficial ADHD hacks that didnt go the distance. In ADHD-ish, Im sharing the best of what Ive learned from running my own businesses and working with clients who are like-minded and like-brained. Note: ADHD-ish does have an explicit rating, not because of an abundance of F-bombs but because I embrace creative self-expression for my guests and myself. So, grab those headphones if you have littles around, and dont forget to hit Follow/Subscribe so you dont miss a single episode. Oh, and if you love the show, reviews are appreciated and so is sharing ADHD-ish with others!

Innovative Solutions for ADHD Executive Functioning Challenges
Episode 256
Tuesday, 1 April, 2025

Sometimes, we don’t have the option of masking, hiding, and attempting to fit in.  As a female of color from an unstable family, today’s guest Mina Raver dropped out of high school after being identified as gifted and diagnosed with ADHD, Autism, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder.  This set her on a non-conventional path that has dramatically accelerated her growth. Mina has been developing solutions for neurodivergent individuals for years, but being selected as a Techstars participant in 2024 taught her the importance of doing things her way, which has led to the Better CEO app. Better CEO leverages neuroscience, human learning modalities, and machine learning to create the world's first individually adaptive productivity software, designed for the 30% of entrepreneurs who struggle with productivity due to ADHD. Better CEO is available now in the mobile version and will soon be available in the desktop version as well.  Because so many adults with ADHD struggle to find software and other tools that actually work for us, I consider becoming an early adopter of Better CEO to be an opportunity to contribute to making this app everything we need it to be, through sharing our feedback with a developer who actually cares. Once you listen to this interview, I bet you will too. Episode Highlights:Disruptive AF: With no technical background, Mina taught herself to code and is building tools to revolutionize productivity for neurodivergent brains. Redefining Productivity: Dive into Mina's holistic approach to understanding brains and hear why she believes current productivity standards just aren't cut out for neurodivergent folk.Passion Over Profit: Discover why Mina opted out of traditional funding pursuits and chose to pave her distinctive path, focusing on genuine impact rather than investor expectations.Own Your Narrative: Mina liberated herself from people-pleasing and permission-seeking, setting an example for other neurodivergent visionaries ready to claim their space and impact the world on their terms.Mic Drop Moment: 🎙️"I learned early that no submission is ever enough for reprieve."
