Dr. Alaa Murabit is a UN High-Level Commissioner on health, employment, and economic growth. She is one of 17 globally United Nations Sustainable Development Goal advocates, as well as a medical doctor and women's rights champion and strategist. She has traveled the world and met people who are leaders in their own industries. From names that we know to names that we don't, there are people who have championed inclusive leadership more than anything else. At The Table is a collection of in-depth conversations and interviews with leaders in all industries. It's looking at how we create systems and structures and communities and selves that really represent what we need in the world today. Sahaj Kohli is the founder of Brown Girl Therapy, a mental health and wellness organization for children of immigrants. In this work, she creates resources that promote bicultural identity exploration and the de-stigmatization of therapy in immigrant communities. Sahaj joins Alaa at the table today to discuss her passion for being a mental health advocate, the unique immigrant experience when it comes to mental health and wellness, and how western mental health may not necessarily understand cultural differences and expectations.
