එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ සංවිධානය විසින් පෙබරවාරි 11වන දා International Day of Women and Girls in Science ලෙස නම් කර තිබෙනවා. ඒ විද්‍යා සහ තාක්ෂණ ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ නිරත කාන්තා පිරිස වෙනුවෙනුයි. ඊට සමගාමිව SBS සිංහල සේවය විසින් ඕස්ට්‍රේලියාවේ පර්යේෂණ කටයුතුවල නියැලෙන විද්‍යාඥවරියක සමඟ කතාබහක නිරත වුණා. ඇය නමින් ආචාර්ය රුවිනි ඒකනායක. රජයේ පර්යේෂණ මධ්‍යස්ථානයක් වන Australian Synchrotronහි රුවිනි විද්‍යාඥවරියක ලෙස සේවය කරනවා.
