A site-specific video walk by seven sisters group for the Ashmolean Museum, OxfordFor viewing from 23 July 2010Combining live performance on Fri 23rd and Sat 24th July at 11am-12pm and 4pm-5pm.FREEAtalanta will take you on a 15-minute walk through the Ashmolean Museum - guided by a voice in your earphones and video footage that matches your pathway. Part of the pleasure is to sync the image on the screen with the real environment in front of you. A story unfolds based on the Greek myth of the runner Atalanta and the continuing challenges that face women in sport.The piece presents an inspired new concept that blends site-specific performance and handheld video technologies linked to 2 years of research by seven sisters group and a host of high profile partners (South Bank Centre, Victoria and Albert Museum and National Rail Museum, amongst others).
