At the Table of Jesus: When Jesus Invites Himself Over

Zacchaeus was a chief tax collector, despised by his community and spiritually empty despite his wealth. When Jesus passed through Jericho, Zacchaeus climbed a sycamore tree just to catch a glimpse of Him. Jesus stopped, called him by name, and invited Himself to his home, an act that was scandalous by the standards of the day. Being truly seen by Jesus changed everything for Zacchaeus. His response was immediate and concrete: he pledged to give half his possessions to the poor and repay anyone he had cheated four times over. Real salvation is not a quiet, internal feeling. It produces visible, actionable change.
