This week Howie is joined by Dr. Marie Therese Merhej Seif, a Member of the Political Board of the Green Party of Lebanon (GPL), where she champions a green political vision rooted in ecological responsibility, social justice, transparency, and inclusive decision-making. Within the party, she works to advance climate resilience, renewable energy, sustainable cities, and biodiversity protection, while placing gender equality at the heart of environmental policy and governance.She also serves as UNEP's Regional Facilitator for Major Groups and Stakeholders (MGS) for the West Asia Region, representing civil society perspectives in UNEP regional processes and strengthening dialogue between stakeholders, governments, and environmental actors.A committed advocate for women's leadership, Marie Therese is Gender Focal Point for the Arab Region within the Arab Network for Environment and Development (RAED), promoting gender-responsive climate policy across Arab civil society.
