It might be shocking to hear, but Sonic the Hedgehog was released 35 years ago this year! The iconic blue blur's debut did the impossible when it pushed Sega to unbelievable heights and toppled Nintendo as the console market leader in the early 90's. I'll take you through where Sega and Nintendo were between the Genesis' 1989 launch and Sonic's Summer 1991 release.
