Resident Evil: Requiem has just released and today we're revisiting one of the best games ever made to celebrate the ninth installment of one of our favorite series. Resident Evil 4 was a major turning point for RE and made a huge impact across gaming when it released on the Gamecube in 2005. We're chronicling the six years it took to develop and the four different versions that existed before RE creator Shinji Mikami took the director's chair to complete Resident Evil 4's mission to reinvent the series. With this reinvention came a new story starring Leon with no ties to Umbrella, and controversially, a new focus on action-oriented gameplay over the survival-horror terror that defined Resident Evil.
