Juan 'Juanete' Jose Muglia As microcomputers opened up a world of programming, digital art and games to kids in North America, Europe and Japan, the developing world was left out of the plans of most software developers. Crackers and software pirates filled this void creating future generations of talented coders and artists, to say nothing of legions of computer game fans. Juan 'Juanete' Jose Muglia was one of those that entered this brave new world, cofounded the legendary Buenos Aires computer store Megasoft and is still active in the demo and cracker scene for the C64 and Amiga to this day. We dive deep into his roots in computing, what the business of piracy was like in the 80s, how it evolved with the arrival of publishers and how the demo scene continues to push old hardware to new limits.
