Bruce Becker - How you know the difference - feat. Flo Fochs
Episode 232
Thursday, 29 October, 2026

Bruce Becker is truly someone you love listening to, and not just because of the incredible energy he radiates, but above all because he genuinely has something meaningful to say. When people like David Garibaldi or Vinnie Colaiuta seek out his advice, it speaks volumes about the esteem in which Bruce is held within the drumming world. That becomes abundantly clear in this episode of Trommel Talk. Bruce is remarkably clear and focused in his approach. It’s not about having the ultimate or “best” method, but rather finding an approach that supports musicality and helps bring out what is possible for each individual player. There are no magic tricks involved. It’s about analysis, and above all, dedication. And that dedication to music, to life, and especially to the art of drumming could be heard and felt in every minute of this interview. Verdict: Absolutely, highly recommended listening. My feeling after the interview: Get behind the kit immediately and start applying what Bruce is talking about... and then, perhaps later, book a lesson with Bruce and keep listening to what he has to say.
