Waiving Covid 19 Vaccine Patent Rights?

We are only safe from the pandemic if everyone else in the world is. Currently there is a serious disparity between developed & developing nations on vaccination. Vaccines are not cheap & east to produce, and we need to keep up with mutating virus. Should patent rights be waived?
