Please welcome to our show a voice you know well, award-winning newscaster @DebraMark from @KFIam640’s @JohnKobyltShow, joining us today not to tell someone else’s story, but her own. It’s a very personal story, one she wants to share for #SuicidePreventionMonth. Most of us who know Debra would describe her as cheerful and always positive. She grew up in the Valley, her parents divorced when she was young, and she worked hard to make it in the news business. She is also married with two grown children. But twenty years ago, her life came to a hault when she got an email from her mother, saying Debra and everyone in the family would be better off without her. That was the last time she ever heard from her mom. In fact, it was Debra who found her mother. The story she tells is terribly sad and tragic, because no one saw it coming. So she wants to shine a spotlight on this serious mental health issue for anyone else out there going through something similar, or thinking about it.
