Waning Moon Cycle / Jupiter Direct
Sunday, 8 March, 2026
We are in a waning moon cycle, with Mercury retrograde and Jupiter retrograde—although Jupiter goes direct this week, so we will certainly talk about that… full forecast on the podcast…This is also the week that precedes next week’s new moon, and we are still coming off the eclipse energy from the two eclipses we had in February. Even though eclipses reverberate for about five and a half months, this waning phase is a time to address what we want to wrap up, release, or bring to completion. With Mercury retrograde, we can actually hasten the completion of things we don’t want to carry into the next lunar cycle. It’s a helpful mindset.I was saying this to my husband at dinner. He was going on about how I hadn’t told him Mercury was retrograde. He’s leading a program right now, and there were misunderstandings in a meeting.I told him, I do tell you. You just don’t always listen. And that’s Mercury retrograde in a nutshell—communication and how we transmit ideas. One thing he realized after that meeting is that even when you think you’re being clear, people may be operating on entirely different channels. They may not read attachments. They may not read past the first paragraph. We’re living in a time where attention spans are fractured. People often don’t go beyond the subject line or the first couple of sentences of an email. That means the subject line becomes critically important. Sometimes it’s even more effective to send several short messages with different subject headings—Part 1, Part 2, Part 3—so people can process the information in smaller bites. This Mercury retrograde period can be very helpful in understanding the world we’re living in: a world with magnified communication tools, yet less ability for people to fully absorb, process, research, and digest information because there is simply so much of it.Monday, March 9 — Moon in Scorpio → Moon in SagittariusThe Moon begins the day in Scorpio, which is always a powerful processing Moon—though not necessarily an easy one. Some of us may wake up wanting to deeply understand something: to research it, chew on it, work it through. But the early morning carries a disruptive influence, and we may get derailed or pulled in another direction unexpectedly. For early risers especially, something may suddenly demand your attention. Move carefully. If you’re moving quickly from one place to another, make sure the stove is turned off, the coffee maker is handled—simple things like that.(All times given are Eastern Time, so adjust depending on where you live.)We also just went through the daylight saving time shift, which can complicate things further during Mercury retrograde. Thankfully we have world clocks on our phones, but even those can occasionally be off depending on regional changes. The Moon goes void of course at 7:28 AM, then enters Sagittarius at 11:37 AM.During a void Moon, it’s best to finish things already in motion, organize your workspace, and prepare for the next phase. This is especially useful during Mercury retrograde—getting everything lined up before momentum returns.Once the Moon enters Sagittarius, energy speeds up. People feel inspired and curious. They want to explore, debate, learn, and act on what excites them. But by evening, tempers may run short. Passion can override diplomacy, and people may feel compelled to drive their point home—even when it’s not productive. If you find yourself in a discussion with someone who has had a bit too much to drink, or someone who simply isn’t listening, remember Mercury retrograde. The same can apply internally—you may find yourself arguing with your own thoughts. The key is to recognize where the frustration is coming from. If nothing can be done in the moment, define it, learn from it, and approach it more strategically later. And if possible, aim for a good night’s sleep—though some people may feel quite energized late into the evening.Tuesday, March 10 — Jupiter Stations DirectThe major event today is Jupiter stationing direct at 11:30 PM Eastern. When a planet stations, it appears to pause in the sky from our perspective on Earth. This creates a kind of energetic pressure—like something building beneath the surface. With Jupiter—the largest planet in our solar system—everything can feel bigger.Emotions may feel amplified. Situations may feel difficult to define. People may become energized or reactive without fully understanding why.Because of this, the most important advice for today is simple:Think before you speak. That’s always wise, but it becomes especially important during Mercury retrograde and during a planetary station. People may say things impulsively without realizing how their words will land.If you feel strongly about something, try writing it down first. Articulate it privately before expressing it publicly. That can help you understand the intention and potential impact of what you’re saying. On the receiving end, if someone says something that feels harsh or confusing, pause and try to understand what’s really being communicated before reacting.Once Jupiter begins moving forward again in the coming days and weeks, it becomes much more supportive for initiating actions. This is traditionally a favorable time to:* make that cold call* reach out to someone you’ve been wanting to meet* launch a business* list a property* begin an expansionJupiter direct tends to favor the initiator.Wednesday, March 11 — Last Quarter Moon | Moon Void All DayThe Moon goes void of course at 5:38 AM, marking the Last Quarter Moon of this waning cycle. The Moon remains void all day. This is generally not a day for starting new ventures, though the Sagittarius energy may still make people feel restless or action-oriented.Instead, it’s a wonderful day for:* reading* researching* brainstorming* gathering informationYou may not land on the final answer today, but you can cover a lot of ground. It’s also an excellent day to spend time outdoors, move your body, hear stories, tell stories, and explore ideas. Think of it as clearing the ground before the real work begins.Thursday, March 12 — Moon Enters CapricornThe Moon enters Capricorn at 12:07 AM, shifting us into highly productive territory.Even with Mercury retrograde, Capricorn energy helps us work methodically. We can review plans, refine strategies, and connect with people who truly understand the situation. Some may feel a moment in the afternoon of realizing, Wow, I’m really on my own here. But that clarity can be helpful. Sometimes we need that focused solitude to accomplish meaningful work. This is a highly productive day, and momentum builds toward Friday.Friday, March 13 — A Productive FlowFriday brings strong energy for seeing the rewards of recent effort. It’s a terrific day for tackling tasks that require discipline and focus. Even though we’re still in a waning Moon cycle and Mercury retrograde, this is a time when things can come together.Certain professions actually thrive during retrogrades—especially those that involve research, investigation, or deep analytical work.Retrogrades invite us to approach life from a deeper dimension—one that is intuitive, reflective, and inwardly aware. But intuition works best when it’s conscious. If you feel compelled to approach someone, start a conversation, or pursue a direction, take a moment to ask yourself:Why am I drawn to this?Understanding your motivations brings a deeper awareness to your choices and helps you move through situations with greater clarity.Saturday, March 14 — Moon Enters AquariusThe Moon goes void at 7:33 AM and enters Aquarius at 11:13 AM.Aquarius energy pulls us outward toward community, conversation, and connection. This can be a wonderful day for networking, exchanging ideas, and exploring possibilities—especially when you remember Mercury retrograde.Ideas may come rapidly. Connections may feel exciting. But try not to lock things down too rigidly. Contracts, firm commitments, or tightly scheduled plans may shift later. That doesn’t mean the ideas are wrong—it just means they may evolve.Sunday, March 15 — Moon in AquariusSunday continues the Aquarius energy. These can be wonderful days for spending time with like-minded people—or even with people who think quite differently but expand your perspective.Community, conversation, and shared curiosity are highlighted.Just keep Mercury retrograde in mind as ideas flow and connections form. And overall, all will be well.Spot on Astrology - Blog about celebrity astrology and eventsA Tip for Pamela? “Always Welcome.
