Beyond survival: Christine Buckley on brain aneurysm awareness, recovery and the patient voice When a patient survives a ruptured brain aneurysm, the outcome cannot be captured by survival alone. Fatigue, sensory sensitivity, cognitive changes, altered relationships and difficulty returning to work may continue long after the patient has left hospital, and may be invisible to everyone around them.
