The Reformation Line To Us -Part 1
Saturday, 31 October, 2026
This podcast traces the historical lineage of the Protestant Reformation, moving from Martin Luther's discovery of justification by faith in Wittenberg to Ulrich Zwingli's emphasis on Scripture in Zurich, and finally to the Anabaptist movement that recovered believers' baptism and the autonomous local church. The narrative highlights the theological shift from grace as a substance to be earned to grace as a gift received through faith alone, grounded in Habakkuk 2:4 and Romans 3. It acknowledges the tragic persecution of early Anabaptists by both Catholic and Reformed authorities, illustrating that the church's survival depends on God's faithfulness rather than the moral perfection of its leaders. The central message affirms that the gospel reached modern Baptists through a chain of flawed men who remained faithful to the Word, encouraging listeners to trust in God's sustaining power despite human failure.
