Mail Ballots 2026: USPS Rules Blocked, but Mail Delays Still Matter

The Supreme Court left the preliminary injunction blocking those requirements in place, and USPS subsequently confirmed that the requirements will not be enforced during the 2026 federal election.However, the court ruling did not resolve ordinary mail delays. The Government Accountability Office reports that USPS has added one or two days to some expected delivery times and has missed most First Class Mail performance targets since 2022.VOTER REMINDER:If you vote by mail, return your ballot early.
