Agenda:WSPA Seeking New Academy Leaders: WSPA's academies and SIGs are the gathering places for our members. The academies ensure that WSPA meets the diverse needs of our members, and creates a place for peers to network. Our Academy Leaders are the catalyst and microphone for this group. If you have been looking to be more involved in the profession, consider participating as an Academy Leader. Managed Medicaid Coverage Changes Gender Affirming Medications: Any medication that could be used for gender affirming care for patients 18 years of age and younger will now be billed to fee-for-service only. This is regardless of whether the patient is receiving the medication for gender affirming care. Apple Health Carve Outs ListManaged Medicaid GLP-1 Medications: Semaglutide and tirzepatide are now the preferred GLP-1 agents for for patients with an approved indication. Liraglutide is no longer preferred for MCO plans, however a PA can be requested for patients who are established on it.
