Standing on God's Word When You're Too Tired to Open Your Bible with Guest Jenny Zentz
Episode 66
Monday, 26 October, 2026

Hey Mama, have you ever looked at your dusty Bible and felt too tired, too busy, or too angry to even open it? Or maybe you've been reading faithfully, but your time in the Word feels dry and lifeless. You're not alone, and there is real hope.In this encouraging episode, I sit down with Jenny Zentz, host of The Intertwined Life Podcast, speaker, and discipleship pastor at Rock Harbor Church in Melbourne Beach, Florida. Jenny is passionate about helping women develop a love for God's Word for themselves and make it intertwined with their everyday lives. We talk about what it looks like for a mom to stand on God's truth when everything inside and around her feels like chaos, and why knowing Scripture gives us something solid to stand on, just like Jesus answered every temptation in the wilderness with "It is written."We get honest about spiritual burnout, dry seasons, and the excuses that keep us out of the Word. Jenny shares her own story of depression and anxiety, a year of waiting on the Lord with Isaiah 40:31 open on her kitchen table, and the Scriptures that have held her up, including Psalm 94:18–19, Ephesians 4:23, Colossians 3:2, Psalm 46:10, and Philippians 2:13. She also shares practical tips like putting verses by your toothbrush or coffee pot so you "accidentally" memorize them, writing down three things you're thankful for each day, and using RightNow Media Kids so your little ones can have their own God time while you have yours. I share a recent laundry room flood and how singing "God Is So Good" in the middle of the mess helped my husband and me both refocus. As Jenny puts it: "Sometimes we have to stand on what we know regardless of how we feel."If you've been stuck in the cycle of wanting more time with the Lord but feeling too exhausted, too dry, or too ashamed to start again, this conversation is for you. There's no shame in a dusty Bible. You'll walk away with simple, doable ways to begin, and the reminder that the smallest step is just telling God exactly how you feel and asking Him to give you the desire for His Word. He promises in Ezekiel 36:26 to take away our heart of stone and give us a heart of flesh.Grab your coffee (even if it's cold and reheated) and press play. You'll finish this episode feeling seen, refreshed, and ready to keep showing up, because He is faithful. If this episode blessed you, please like, subscribe, rate, and review so we can help more hurting mamas find hope and restoration in their motherhood journey!Jenny's Links:Website: https://jennyzentz.comLinktree: https://linktr.ee/jennyzentzInstagram: @jennyzentzYouTube: Jenny Zentz - The Intertwined Life Podcast (@jennyzentz)Free RightNow Media Account: https://mailchi.mp/6f15c42c0996/free-rightnow-media-accountGrab A Copy of Natalie's Book:Lord, Why Did You Give Me These Children?!
