Send us Fan MailIn this series we walk through the life of Joseph in Genesis, following the thread that God’s people minister from His favor, not for His favor. Joseph is favored as a son, yet still betrayed; the LORD is with him in Potiphar’s house and in prison, yet he still faces false accusation and delay. In every season he is not serving to earn God’s presence—he is serving because God is already with him.We will also keep returning to Genesis 50:20: “You planned evil against me; God planned it for good.” Joseph never pretends the evil was not real. He simply refuses to treat it as ultimate. The pit, the prison, the forgotten years, and the famine are not random; God is weaving them into the preservation of His people and the fulfillment of His promises.Joseph’s story points beyond itself to Christ, the truly beloved Son who ministered from the Father’s declared delight rather than to earn it. In Jesus we are brought into that same grace: we do not serve to become loved; we serve because, in Christ, we are already loved.Join us as we ask two recurring questions: Am I serving, obeying, enduring, or leading for God’s favor—or from it? And where do we see what people meant for evil—and where might God be working for good?
