Robin walks a block and a half from his house to join Howie and Scully in the King Room for a chat about our beloved neighborhood. He tells how he came to New Orleans looking for inspiration many years ago and how he continues to find it; he explains what its like to play multiple instruments in several different bands including washboard with Tuba Skinny (BJ's regulars), drums with James McClaskey (BJ's every Sunday), and violin and mandolin with his own Italian band The Gloworm Trio (every Wednesday at Vaughan's). He shares the grueling but invigorating experience of playing the Jazz Fest and gigging every night when its done. Scully contracts Robin -- also a blacksmith -- to forge some one of kind hooks to go under the bar and on the wall so he doesn't have to keep "hanging his coat on a nail." Howie reveals her love of bells!!!We listen to three of his own compositions recorded by Tuba Skinny.
