In a post capitalist society with equal opportunity and no need to work for all citizens, where does inherent human nature drive people? Do they rise to greater heights or become lazy and goalless? Are people still in control of their own fate when AI teach the children, AI provide a police force, and AI look after the mentally ill? Maji grows up when this type of society is brand new and she becomes lost, not knowing what she wants to become.
